Hello!

What a strange time we are living in! As an avid reader, I often daydream of free days to dive into whatever new book I've downloaded to my Kindle Reader. I fantasize about sitting on my couch with a cup of tea, a blanket, and hours of free time to spend diving into new worlds. And while, I don't feel as if I have piles of free time- helping our school get ready for online learning is a lot of work!- I have more time than I've had in a long while.

I am missing all of your faces, and hoping that you're doing well. I miss all the lively conversations about books and sports and the world at large. I already miss hearing what books you're reading and which ones you decided weren't a great fit.

My intention is to post here as often as I can, to say hello. Maybe I'll tell you about what I'm reading. I'll happily give book recommendations, and share what interesting articles I've been reading online. I'll post my favorite read-alouds and some fun community art projects that are happening. Feel free to send me a note! I'd love to help you find a book or a project or give some feedback on something you're working on!

Let's keep in touch!
-Ms. Shanna

My link for today: one of my most favorite children's book illustrators (I know, I always say that!), Mac Barnett, is doing live readings of his books on Instagram in the afternoons. You should definitely go watch!

You remember Mac! He illustrated Circle, Square, and Triangle along with How This Book Was Made and Chloe and The Lion!
