What are you DOING???
Hey everybody! Happy Thursday!

It's been a pretty strange time lately and I feel like our day to day lives have changed a lot. My habits have really changed, and while I know it's probably for a short time, I'm curious about the choices I'm making. I was also curious about what choices YOU are making. I know that everyone has different situations- at our house the adults are working from home and are mostly very busy during the day. Which means our kids are a bit "on their own" during the day. We have daily meetings to check in about school work and what other ways they plan to spend their time each day. We all try to get together at around 6 to hang out, watch videos, play games, or do something active. Then we make dinner and then it's bedtime. Since the adults are still working, we're trying to keep a fairly consistent schedule. I know that's not possible- or even desired!- by some families, but this is what works for us. Since we aren't driving back and forth to work and sports, we do have more free time than we did before. If you had asked me what I would do with extra time 2 months ago my list would have been things like: clean my house, organize my garage, sew, draw, read more, bake, exercise, meditate. I'm definitely doing some of those things, but my habits aren't exactly what I expected either. I spend more time on the internet that I had expected, and while I'm reading more, I'm also doing some other things. I'm not doing as many chores or cleaning projects as I'd have expected. I am doing a lot more "nothing"... sitting around looking out the window, talking to my family, thinking, sitting still. I've also taken up an old hobby... crosswords! There is something very comforting about doing easy crosswords- it allows my mind to work- but not too hard- block out other thoughts, and see clear progress. I'm also learning to roller skate in our new half-pipe. I wear all my pads, I look super silly,

and I have A LOT of bruises, but it gives me some exercise and it's something that our whole family likes to do together.
I have read a few books- I read about 30-45 minutes a day, right before bed. I have read a couple of cool books by Japanese authors that I really enjoyed. I am currently reading
Renegades by Marissa Meyer and just finished
Slayer by Kiersten White, which is a Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan fiction. I also read
Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee. Did you read
Dragon Pearl? That's the same author. It was good, but kinda confusing.

I like being home, wearing slippers all day, and having snacks any time I want. I also miss school and seeing all of you. I miss hugging my family. I miss my roller derby and friends there, and I miss eating at my favorite Indian restaurant. The first thing I'm going to when this is over is go see a roller derby game!
What are you doing with your time? What do you miss? Take a couple of minutes and fill out this survey, and let me know what you're up to!
